Dear Media and Friends,

In the agenda for the next City Council meeting, released one hour ago, you will see two Executive Session items announcing that City Manager Tommy Gonzalez and City Attorney Karla Nieman are up for their annual review. There are no documents attached, since the entire process occurs behind closed doors.

I hope that City Council will remember that in 2018 Ms. Nieman told City Council that if the Great Wolf Lodge deal was terminated that the land swap with Paul Foster’s group would be terminated as well. As a result of her gross misrepresentation, a deal worth more than a half billion dollars was voted into law and the taxpayers will be left holding the bag for the next half century.

As for Mr. Gonzalez, our City property tax has risen 38% since he assumed office in 2014 while our population has risen slightly more than 1%. Need I say more?

Max
