As you know, George Zavala filed a complaint with the City’s Ethics Review Commission against Rep. Cassandra Hernandez after the Chief Internal Auditor released the results of his review of gas card expenditures by the Mayor and City Council.
Two weeks ago, Frank Garza, Special Counsel to the City of El Paso, announced that the complaint lies within the purview of the Commission.
Today he sent the attached letter to Zavala revealing that Hernandez’s attorney requested an additional week for her to respond to the complaint and that the request was granted.
Thus, Hernandez must reply to Zavala’s complaint by June 29.
The Ethics Review Commission will hold a public hearing on July 19 at 5:30pm at City Hall.
