oday County Commissioner Iliana Holguin, who opposes the use of certificates of obligation to pay for the proposed expansion of UMC, will host a “UMC Bond Presentation” at Ysleta High School today at 6:00pm.
The use of COs, which do not require voter approval, rather than funds from a general obligation bond, is absolutely wrong.
Let the supporters of the UMC expansion take their case to the voters, since the last time I checked we still live in a constitutional republic.
