Most of you plan to vote NO on Proposition K, which would raise electric rates, increase taxes, kill jobs, and contract our local economy. Enough said.

But please remember to vote YES on Proposition J, which would amend our City Charter such that the Chief Internal Auditor reports directly to City Council rather than to the City Manager.

Moreover, the amendment would place the Chief Internal Auditor under the authority of the City representative who chairs the Financial Oversight and Audit Committee (FOAC).

Rep. Brian Kennedy of District 1 was recently appointed Chair of FOAC!

Proposition J will enable Kennedy and his colleagues to examine City finances without interference from the City Manager or his staff.

It eliminates a conflict of interest of the highest order and imposes more fiscal oversight.

YES on Prop J!

NO on Prop K!
