Established in 1885, the Segundo Barrio is a fascinating neighborhood that is rich in history and culture.

The Trost Society will host an architectural walking tour of the neighborhood on Saturday, July 31 at 9:00-11:00am with Dr. Max Grossman, architectural historian.

The Segundo Barrio will soon be designated as a National Register Historic District, with hundreds of buildings eligible for federal and state historic tax credits that may be applied toward restoration projects.

The tour will begin at Sacred Heart Church at 602 S. Oregon St. with an exclusive visit to the building, which will soon be restored, and then continue with a historical walk around the neighborhood. The walking portion of the tour will be approximately one mile and last 90 minutes.

Please wear comfortable shoes, wear a hat and bring water. It is highly recommended that you bring a mask.

All proceeds will support the restoration of Sacred Heart Church.

Minimum donation is $20. Limited to 75 participants.
