Father Rafael Garcia is one of many who is trying to convince the County Commissioners Court that the proposed Sacred Heart National Historic District should not be divided into two districts, with Sacred Heart Church and more than 200 other historic buildings relegated to “Downtown”.

Meanwhile, the public petition opposing the division of Segundo Barrio has reached 1,724 signatures.
