“The fencing around Duranguito, the previously approved site for El Paso’s proposed multi-purpose arts and entertainment center, is coming down.
The El Paso City Council moved earlier this year to abandon the Duranguito site after years of litigation led by El Paso historian Max Grossman asserting the historic importance of the area.
City teams have been working late last month to remove the fencing around Chihuahua Street and began installing new fencing on either side. The work will once again open the streets to motor vehicle traffic but protect the historic structures within the district.”
