Dear Friends,

Tomorrow at a special 9:00am meeting of the County Commissioners Court, Economic Development will present the first draft of the nomination for the proposed Downtown National Register District.

As things stand, the new district will include 195 “contributing” resources that are potentially tax-credit-eligible and 72 non-contributing resources. Significantly, it will include the Union Plaza neighborhood in its entirety and is on track to be finalized in 2021.

The public is welcome to sign up and provide comment on the draft and presentation to the County Commissioners Court tomorrow morning.

Soon there will be a separate presentation on the proposed Segundo Barrio national historic district.

I will continue to keep you informed as this exciting process moves forward.

Have a great afternoon!
