According to the NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF TAX INCREASE, the current effective City tax on the average-valued single-family residence is $1,751.61.
City Council was initially considering an increase of $132 but voted yesterday to increase the figure by only $105, equal to 6.0%.
The latest national inflation figure is 3.4%.
Thus the City is increasing the property tax by nearly double the inflation rate.
That translates to more pain for El Paso Taxpayers and we should all be mad as hell!
