Many have been wondering what former City Rep. Cassandra Hernandez would do after getting caught in her undergarments with her Legislative Aide, losing her mayoral election, and then seeing her husband arraigned for felony assault with a deadly weapon.
According to her LinkedIn, she just landed a job as Dean of Workforce Development and Continuing Education at North Central Michigan College in Petoskey, Michigan (pop. 6,000), which is 270 miles north of Detroit and near the Canadian border.
The Higher Ed Jobs webpage advertised the position as full-time with a salary range of $80-95,000/year.
Founded in 1959, NCMC is one of 30 community colleges in the state of Michigan, with 32 full-time faculty, 132 adjunct instructors, and 1,722 students enrolled.
Thus, Hernandez is now far away from El Paso, much like Tracey Jerome, who lives and works in Mooresville, North Carolina, and Elizabeth Triggs, who works for Tommy Gonzalez in Midland.
We wish Ms. Hernandez well in her new life and hope, for the sake of the nice folks in Petoskey, that she stays out of politics and that her employer does not issue her a gas card.
