The highest paid employee is Chief Medical Examiner Mario Rascon ($470,733), followed by Deputy Medical Examiner Janice Diaz ($302,863), Chief Administrator Betsy Keller ($295,196), and County Auditor Barbara Parker ($267,243).
Sheriff Ugarte is the 40th highest paid employee ($199,263).
County Judge Samaniego is paid $152,725 and the Commissioners $133,467 each.
Numerous salaries in El Paso County are conspicuously high but we are repeatedly told the County is unable to cut spending.
