The City issued the attached press release inviting the public to provide input to the consultants who were hired by the City for $798,000 to determine the feasibility of constructing a Multipurpose Performing Arts and Entertainment Facility in Duranguito.
El Paso Matters reports: “A public meeting to talk about the economic impact of the proposed multipurpose center will be at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, June 23, at the Center for Civic Engagement, 17th floor (Room C) of the Blue Flame Building, 304 Texas Ave., in Downtown El Paso. Those who want to view it and participate online may do so here. The public meeting will be conducted by Gensler and Associates, the architect consulting company hired by the city in April. The consultant is supposed to explore financial models that include estimates of capital and operating costs, public-private opportunities, opportunities for preservation of existing buildings and the historic character of the neighborhood, as well as how to protect dilapidated buildings.”
I have learned that the consultants are attending virtually, so it is up to you if you wish to attend in person, as the press release states. Either way, you will be communicating through a computer.
