Adam Powell of the El Paso Times asked former City Rep. Claudia Lizette Rodriguez about Tom Laign’s ethics complaint against her, which may soon come before the Ethics Review Commission.
She is accused of abusing her City-issued gas card, including filling up her tank multiple times in distant cities.
Here is her response:
“The latest complaint submitted against me is proof that this is a political hit job. Why? Because I am no longer in office. My position is, I did nothing wrong and will not be participating in this kangaroo court process.”
So Rodriguez believes that the all-volunteer Commission responsible for investigating malfeasance and corruption within the City of El Paso is a “kangaroo court.”
