Martin Paredes published an exceptional report for El Paso News in which he documents all federal campaign contributions by Paul Foster, Alejandra de la Vega, and Woody and Josh Hunt to candidates for federal office. These four individuals are among the wealthiest residents of El Paso and are the owners of the Chihuahuas baseball franchise.

All told, the four contributed $34,316,302.26 since 1987 with more than 99% going to Republicans.

However, $49,162 went to Beto O’Rourke and $70,240.94 to Veronica Escobar.

Beto and Escobar routinely excoriate Republicans yet have repeatedly accepted large contributions from their Republican constituents.

Kudos to Paredes for shedding light on a key feature of our local power structure.
