Yesterday the US House of Representatives voted 377 to 44 to pass House Resolution 883, condemning the slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” which expresses a desire to destroy Israel and cleanse it of Jews.

Congresswoman Veronica Escobar joined with the nine members of the Squad, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib, and voted NAY, refusing to condemn the slogan as antisemitic.

The phrase is commonly shouted by members of Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah, which are genocidal terrorist organizations committed to killing Jews.

In fact, they and their supporters chanted the slogan as Iran sent more than 300 drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles toward Israeli cities over the weekend.

Our local media failed to publish any reports on Escobar’s vote, and it was not the only one directed against Israel.

On October 17, only tens days after the Hamas attack on Israel, Escobar was one of seven US representatives calling for “an immediate ceasefire, or at minimum, a temporary cessation of all hostilities.”

On November 7, Escobar voted NAY on House Resolution 845, “Censuring Representative Rashida Tlaib for promoting false narratives regarding the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel and for calling for the destruction of the state of Israel.” It passed 234-188.

On December 5, the United States House of Representatives voted 311-14 on House resolution 894, “strongly condemning and denouncing the drastic rise of antisemitism in the United States and around the world” and proclaiming that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism. Escobar abstained.

Our esteemed Congresswoman has stated publicly many times that she is a strong supporter of Israel, but her votes say otherwise.

We have a message for her and her friends in the Squad.

The Jews will not go quietly.
