As you may have noticed, Adam Powell is the new City reporter for the El Paso Times. He replaces Anthony Jackson, who did a great job during his time in El Paso and will be missed by many.
Yesterday Powell published a report explaining that in spite of the proposed $4.49 decrease in the City tax rate, the average home value in El Paso increased 13.3% to approximately $167,000, and thus the average homeowner will pay $82 more each year in property tax!
As always, the City feeds us their hogwash.
For a good laugh, do not forget to read the guest column by three City reps that recently appeared in the same newspaper. It is rather nauseating to suffer through their intellectual acrobatics and double-speak as they try to convince us that our City is a good steward of our tax revenue. 😂😂😂
