For years the City’s Office of Economic and International Development rented space in Paul Foster’s Anson Mills Building, incestuously close to the headquarters of the Borderplex Alliance, located just upstairs.
We just learned that the office has relocated to 200 N. Kansas St. We dropped by for a visit but found a gray locked door with no indication of what is behind it. We were admitted after ringing the bell but once inside, we learned that the office is located upstairs and cannot be visited without an appointment.

Why has this critically important City office been transferred from an accessible location into a windowless, bunker-like building?
Is this a ploy to conceal their business dealings from the public?
Enquiring minds want to know!
