Lauren Zimmerman is the brain behind Congresswoman Veronica Escobar’s election campaigns and she assisted the campaigns of Mayor Renard Johnson and County Judge Ricardo Samaniego.
She was remarkably effective at finessing and stonewalling the media during Johnson’s successful election run. Johnson disseminated a slew of dishonest mailers making impossible promises, such as that he would lower our property tax and “fix our streets.”
As for Samaniego, he voted repeatedly to increase his own salary and is now paid $152,700 plus benefits. He voted to place $720 million in new bond issues on the November 2024 ballot (of which the voters approved $552 million) and then voted for a $54 million certificate of obligation, exploding our County debt to record levels and costing the taxpayers more than $1.1 billion in principal and interest.
Thanks to Zimmerman’s successful campaign strategies, El Pasoans are ruled by leaders who have increased our taxes to the highest levels in the history of our City and County.
ZIMMERMAN HIRED BY META
KFOX14 just confirmed that Zimmerman has been appointed the new PR guru for Meta and that she “will help guide regional project development and build community partnerships as the company moves forward with its El Paso data center project.”
In other words, she will try to persuade us that the Meta Data Center is the best thing since the invention of the tortilla.
If she can convince El Paso that Escobar, Samaniego, and Renard are illustrious leaders who stand for the interests of their constituents, we have no doubt she can make our community worship the Data Center.
We were on the fence about the Data Center, but now that Escobar has sent her campaign manager to handle Meta’s local PR and finesse the public and media, we are convinced the project can only be evil.
