Claudia Lizette Rodriguez, the Republican candidate for County Commissioner Precinct 1, failed to submit her 30-day campaign finance report on time.
As a result, we filed a complaint with the Texas Ethics Commission, which promptly notified us that they have accepted jurisdiction and informed Rodriguez about the alleged violation.
This is not the first time she has willfully disregarded the law.
On February 17, 2023, the Texas Ethics Commission fined the her $1,000 for violating Sections 253.003(b), 253.094, 254.031(a)(1), and 254.031(a)(6) of the Texas Election Code when she was running for re-election to El Paso City Council.
She is a repeat offender.
