This past Saturday the Community First Coalition of El Paso held a candidates forum for Districts 5 and 6.
Notice the two empty chairs in the attached photo.
Incumbent City Reps. Isabel Salcido of District 5 and Claudia Lizette Rodriguez of District 5 declined to attend.
Salcido sent an email to the CFC claiming she had “another commitment” and Rodriguez wrote to them in order to “respectfully decline.”
These are both Oligarchy incumbents who raised most of their money from residents of the Upper Valley and Coronado, which are far from their districts.
They do not represent their constituents but rather the Margos and their Oligarch friends, along with their bankers and attorneys.
They did not feel compelled to defend their appalling voting records so publicly since they would have nothing to gain.
