Andrew J. Polk of KVIA reports that City Rep. Isabel Salcido of District 5 faces more than $200,000 in legal judgments due to unpaid debts, according to court documents.

Since 2021, Salcido has been the defendant in at least five lawsuits, one in Harris County and four in El Paso County.

In spite of all this, she just loaned her mayoral campaign $100,000, according to item 16 of the the September 10 City Council agenda.

We are pretty sure her creditors will not be too happy about that.

Could her loan to herself be a ploy to shield her personal wealth from legal judgments?

More importantly, why does Salcido feel she is qualified to serve as Mayor of El Paso, presiding over a $1.3 billion budget, if her own fiscal house is in total chaos?

Just wondering.
