We are pleased to announce that our Welsh Corgi, Fluffy, has declared his candidacy for County Judge! He is appointing Kermit the Frog as his Treasurer and Miss Piggy as his Campaign Manager.
Fluffy was overwhelmed by your positive response to our suggestion that he run for public office.
Here are Fluffy’s 10 campaign promises:
- He will never vote for a tax increase.
- He will never vote for a certificate of obligation or tax note.
- He will never vote to support any project that should be funded by the private sector.
- He will demand that Samaniego, Stout, and Coronado, who voted to spend $1 million on the Deck Plaza, reimburse the County by refusing their salaries for the next 29 months.
- He will demand that all members of the Commissioners Court be paid what they earned when first assuming office.
- He will never advocate for any political issue that is not within his purview.
- He will never accept campaign contributions from developers who have been awarded a County contract within the last 10 years.
- He will never support incentives for developers or contractors without including clawback provisions that are enforceable by contract.
- He will reduce the number of County employees by 5% through attrition over the next two fiscal years.
- He will open up bidding for County contracts to canines, cats, bunny rabbits, kangaroos, and pterodactyls.
Fluffy will be the “County Judge of the People” and work tirelessly to streamline County government and reduce wasteful spending.
Fluffy for County Judge!
