Rep. Rodriguez wrong on arena
In her column on October 16, Rep. Claudia Rodriguez was far from transparent regarding the proposed arena in Duranguito.
Her claim that “one person,” namely Max Grossman, has single-handedly stopped the building of the arena is totally untrue. Over the years, numerous surveys, petition drives, demonstrations, testimonies at City Hall, letters to the editor, etc., have demonstrated that Grossman’s litigation against the arena has the support of legions of El Pasoans.
Taxpayers do not want to assume the burden of paying for a half-billion-dollar boondoggle that the city cannot afford. We need better representation at the City Council.
