We had previously reported that El Paso County adopted a no-new-revenue tax rate for FY 2027.
We have since confirmed that the County is nevertheless increasing the tax on the average-valued single-family residence by $41. This is apparently because of the new personal business property tax exemption, which is funded by the taxpayers at large.
Now we learn that the County has also approved a $10 increase to the UMC property tax.
Thus, on a single-family residence assessed at $232,669, homeowners face a tax increase of approximately $156 in FY 2027 ($105 City, $41 County, $10 UMC).
For a home assessed at $500,000, the tax increase is about $335.
Enjoy your day.
