This was posted by the El Paso Chamber earlier today. No, we did not add the “SOLD OUT” sign. That was them and we couldn’t agree more!
So ourĀ selloutĀ mayor will deliver his “State of the City” speech before more than 500 sycophants at the El Paso Convention Center on March 25 between 11:00am and 1:00pm.
Sponsorships for the event cost from $3,000 to $15,000. One must register as a member to learn how much standard tickets cost but last year they ran $180/person.
We remember the El Paso Chamber hosted Ricardo Samaniego for his State of the County speech on November 6, when for $150/person one could learn how he spent us into oblivion while earning an executive public salary.
We can only imagine what the Mayor will say Wednesday:
“I promised to lower your taxes but they went up 4.3% instead. I promised to fix our streets but the City still earmarks only $10 million for repairs and maintenance. I promised to lure large corporations to El Paso but the only scores so far were the work of my predecessors on City Council. I can smile, shake hands, and kiss babies like no other politician before me but I have accomplished absolutely nothing that matters. Have a nice day!”
Many thanks to Jenny Solo of ToDoElPaso for sharing this hilarious advertisement with us.
