Family nurse practitioner Annette Griego is challenging Commissioner Sergio Coronado of Precinct 4 in the current Democratic Primary.

Coronado is an extreme tax-and-spend “progressive” who increased his own salary 16.2% after less than 8 months in office and burdened the taxpayers with more than $1 billion in new debt obligations.

Griego’s recent mailer attacks Coronado for increasing the property tax, issuing $113 million in certificates of obligation without voter approval, raising his own salary, and committing $1 million to the design of the Debt Plaza.

However, Griego’s campaign webpage is less explicit: https://annettegriego.com/#platform. There, she takes no positions on certificates of obligation and the Debt Plaza and does not vow to oppose future property tax increases or non-voter-approved debt issuances.

It is hard to imagine a worse county commissioner than Coronado so we feel certain that Griego would be an improvement if elected.

The winner of the Democratic Primary will face Republican Leo Arcos for County Commissioner PCT. 4 in November. His campaign webpage is still empty but we look forward to learning more about him: https://www.voteforleoarcos915.com/
