Lesley Engle of KVIA just published a jaw-dropping report about a Title VII lawsuit filed against Management and Engineering Technologies International, Inc. (METI) after Renard Johnson terminated a Hispanic employee “because of his opposition to a discriminatory practice.”
This comes on the heals of the report by Adam Powell of the El Paso Times.
Johnson’s opponent Brian Kennedy commented in a recent mailer: “Renard got rich through no-bid federal contracts available to minority firms. But when a Hispanic male employed by Renard’s company, METI, lodged a complaint for discrimination, Renard retaliated by firing him. A trial jury found in the employee’s favor and agreed that he was fired for his opposition to a discriminatory practice.”
