Recently two billboards were placed along Interstate 10 in central El Paso identifying New York and San Francisco as sanctuary cities and inviting immigrants to go there.
The billboards were paid for by SanctuaryCities.com, which identifies sanctuary cities, where migrants are safe from arrest and deportation, and promotes their “ample social services,” healthcare, and diverse and tolerant residents.
According to their webpage, “The residents of San Francisco pride themselves on welcoming immigrants of all backgrounds to their city. Many San Franciscans believe that their city was stolen from Ohlone people, and that they themselves don’t have a right to be there in the first place.”
NBC News aired a report on the two El Paso billboards, which is well worth watching:
