I have always been interested in how news is reported in El Paso, especially television news.
There are broadcast journalists and anchors who earn awards and recognition for serious investigative or cultural reports, and they deserve our gratitude and support.
Others focus on car accidents, murders, City and County press releases, cute little bunnies, and promoting themselves on Facebook and Instagram.
Each year the Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences confers Lone Star Emmy Awards recognizing the achievements of television news professionals across Texas.
This year, employees from four out of five of our local television networks (plus Texas Tech Public Media) have been nominated for a Lone Star Emmy for the broadcasts listed below. The winners will be announced on November 12.
Congratulations to all!
